Behind fashion History: Mod Subculture at vOrtice Factory.

This saturday at Villa Agustina, the collective vOrtice rocks organizes the vOrtice Factory party,
a great event insiped by the Andy Warhol Factory in NewYork .
Performance by the amazing Diego Bowie, Great DJ's and live band from San Francisco "Shock"...
All the ingredients to have an amazing night will be there so don't miss it!
Anyway the point is, the dress code will be "Neo-Mod".... Mod Mod Mod!!!!!

Let's talk about this sub-culture from the late 50's to the early 60's!
"Mod" is a short name for Modernism contrasting with "Trad", Traditional,
referring to the modern jazz movement in the late 50's.
The movement started in London, but quickly spray. At the beginning,
The "Mod" jazz fans and players were dressed up in tailored costumes,
with very strong influences from French cinema "Nouvelle Vague" as well as Italian tailoring and fashion for men.

Jean-Paul Belmondo in "A bout de Souffle" one of the cult french "Nouvelle Vague" movies.

The "Mod" style for men:
Often composed with tailored suits, shirts or polos and ties in classic colors, sometimes with the pants  little shorter to let the socks be seen.

One of the most famous Mod designer was John Stephen, well known as
"the man who made Carnaby Street"
he got this nick name after opening the first "His Clothes" shop in Carnaby street, London
where he was selling his own designs. The notoriety of John Stephen explode after a series of articles in the "Daily Mail" entitled "How To Look Mod".

The "Mod" style for women:
"Mod" Ladies worn dresses with "col claudine", with very strait cuts, skirts and nylon pull overs, tights and boots or small shoes.
Pyramidal, strait, or V cut were dominant.

Twiggy, the very famous 60's model, picking clothes for a photoshoot.

The short skirt was born in the mid-sixties as well known as "Mini-skirt".
The designer Mary Quant was one of the first who sprayed the trend, some people might say that she invented the "Mini"!

4 great Ideas to be noticed in music festival.

4 great picks from the Festival Abierto in Panama to get noticed in music festivals.
Ready?
----->

No, this is not Coachella Festival...

Idea n°1->
Make Bubbles!

Ok, this one ask little material.. but for cheap investment  brings great results.

You will look creative and people will take lots of pictures of you....

count the number of photographers on the pictures!
The trick:
do not hurt children with the wooden sticks,
do not let children drink the soap to make the bubbles...
well just be aware of children.
They could RUIN your plans.
In two words: Avoid Drama.

Idea N°2
Bring Your Dog!

Ok... This one ALWAYS works. Especially if you are single, the hairy friend is a great way to meet other people, beautiful girls or boys or both or whatever you are looking for.
(notice that small dogs work better on girls and big ones work better on boys)

people will start by a very sweet "holalala! how cute is he!!! BLABLABLA....." with a very cheesy annoying voice...
a step you unfortunately can't avoid.

then ask a great friend to keep the puppy if it turns out
 you shag.
The Trick:
If you don't have a dog borrow one from a friend.
Or rent one if you can.
And don't bring Chiwawa. Those dogs are definitely too small and you will end up with mash potato dog.
In two words, Avoid Drama.

Idea n°3
Organize a flash mob!

You have to plan your flash mod in advance,
find people who are ok to do it with you,
choose a not to complicated choregraphy (not everyone haves you dancing skills).

You will get quickly noticed with this one...

Always better if you can do breakdance.
The Trick:
Be coherent with the choregraphy.
Avoid ballet, 'cause with the grass and everything...
don't get too drunk before dancing or you will loose all credibility. If you do, try to do not get sick on anyone.
In two words: Avoid Drama.

Idea n°4:
Dressed up like that

That's it.

Hope this will be helpful,
don't hesitate to contact me if you have any trouble or question.

Last but not least, the tree i draw for the festival!
N°51

Bisou!
